The accreditation of education and training is a Quality Assurance system applied a worldwide system. It was originally created to be applied in Western World in particular in the United States, United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries but it is now expanded into many other countries across the world. This system is applied for all types and level of the education and for training institutions. The aim of the study is to investigate the implementation of accreditation system in higher education in Turkey under the new arrangements for establishment of a Higher Education Accreditation Board. The study is based on a desk study to create a national accreditation system for higher education using an internationally recognized education accreditation institution as a model and also taking into account national Vocational Qualification, Standardization, Accreditation and Higher Education legislation and regulations. As a result of this study a suitable, applicable and acceptable model for Quality Assurance in the higher education is introduced.
