Özet

Historical city centers are areas structured according to a traditional order and transfer the social, cultural, economic and historical accumulation of cities from the past to the present by reshaping and transferring them to our time. In the historical process, historical centers, where trade, traditional craftsmanship, public buildings, as well as residences for settlement purposes, are inadequate and cannot meet the needs due to rapid urbanization in our age. Today, urbanization due to increasing population, developing economic conditions, cultural change, different production and consumption habits cause changes, transformations and renovations in historical city center textures. Depending on the development of conservation awareness in our country, in recent years, renovation and revitalization projects have been carried out in dilapidated and collapsed areas of historical city centers in order to restore their lost original identities. In this study, evaluations were made about the historical texture built in the last century within the traces of Dışkale in the historical city center of Aksaray province. In line with these evaluations, the studies for the renewal of the settlement inside the castle were evaluated and the results were obtained that urban transformation practices that are disconnected from their historical ties will be incomplete in achieving the targeted success. In this context, in this study, first of all, the renovation works in the historical city center of Aksaray province, reuses and changes in the historical environment will be discussed with examples of applications in different cities of our country and the world.
