The Values Teaching Methods Of Primary School Teachers And Their Views On Students’ Perceptions

The aim of this study is to examine classroom teachers’ views on the values taught within values education, the methods and techniques they employ, the challenges they encounter during the instructional process, their suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of values education, and students’ attitudes toward this process. The study was conducted using a case study design, one of the qualitative research methods. The data were collected through open-ended questions administered to teachers and analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that teachers most frequently teach the values of respect, honesty, empathy, and tolerance, and that they prefer student-centered methods such as drama, case studies, and relating values to daily life in values education. Among the main problems encountered in values education are the lack of family support, students’ inability to internalize values, and technology addiction. Teachers emphasized that strengthening family–school cooperation and increasing practice-based activities are essential for enhancing the effectiveness of values education.
