Dini Tutumların Yaşam Doyumu Üzerindeki Etkisi: Üniversite Öğrencileri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Din, insanlığın var oluşundan bu yana süregelen, yaşamı anlamlandırma ve zorluklarla başa çıkma gibi konularda bir başvuru aracı olarak görülmektedir. Kimi zaman ulaşılması gereken bir nokta kimi zaman ise hedefe ulaşma sürecinin bizzat kendisi olarak görülen yaşam doyumu ise, hayattan zevk almayı ifade eden subjektif bir bakış açısını ifade etmektedir. Bu araştırma, üniversite öğrencilerinin dini tutumlarının yaşam doyumu üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Üniversite dönemi, genç yetişkinlerin akademik, sosyal ve sorumluluk temelli yoğun stres altında olduğu ve çeşitli ruhsal sağlık sorunlarının (depresyon, anksiyete vb.) yaygın görüldüğü kritik bir süreçtir. Bu bağlamda, inanç sistemlerinin bireye sunduğu anlam, aidiyet ve başa çıkma mekanizmalarının yaşam doyumuna katkısı temel araştırma sorusunu oluşturmuştur. İç Anadolu Bölgesinde eğitim ve öğrenimini sürdüren üniversite öğrencileri üzerinde bir alan araştırması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örneklem olarak aynı bölgede faaliyet gösteren bir üniversitede işletme bölümünde okuyan öğrenciler seçilmiştir. Bu kapsamda kolayda örnekleme metoduyla 298 üniversite öğrencisinden veri toplanmış ve veriler yapısal eşitlik modeli kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, dini tutumların yaşam doyumu üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü güçlü bir etkisinin (0,703) olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca, yaşam doyumunun yaş, gelir düzeyi ve akademik başarı gibi demografik faktörlere göre farklılaştığı, dini tutumların ise bu demografik özelliklerden bağımsız olarak benzer düzeylerde seyrettiği saptanmıştır. Bu bağlamda dini tutumların demografik farklılıklar gibi dışsal unsurlarından etkilenmediği görülmüştür.
