CAPTURING THE COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES OF ADVANCED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES:DESIGN–MANUFACTURING INTEGRATION AS A COMPLEMENTARY ASSET: A CASE STUDY ON METAL KITCHEN EQUIPMENTS MANUFACTURING ENTERPRISES IN TURKEY

Abstract

Advanced Manufacturing Technologies(AMT) provide competetive advantages to business enterprises.Capturing the Design and Manufacturing Integration(DMI) benefits are the result of through organizational work.Capturing on DMI all AMTs including in process.There is need to do necessary changes to acquire the optimize benefits that can be obtained by acquisition of AMTs on capturing DMI.This study covers kitchen equipments manufacturer which perform in metal sector and the purpose is to obtain of the competitive advantages condition of Advanced Manufacturing Technology(AMT) with Design Manufacturing Integration in Turkey.With this aim a detailed literature review is included. By envolving the data acquired from the the literature a randomly selected sample is identified with the aim of applying a questionnaire on kitchen equipment manufacturing companies from metal industry which are member of TOBB.Also a pre-test is applied before performing the questionnaire. In order to acquire a high return ratio interviews are performed face to face with the enterprises. Data is analyzed after application of the questionnaire and results are obtained.
