Çölyak Hastalarının Tüketim Alışkanlıkları İle Sağlık Okuryazarlığı İlişkisi

Özet

Yeni çağın hastalığı olarak adlandırılan ve glütene karşı hassasiyetle ortaya çıkarak ömür boyu sürebilen çölyak hastalığının tek çözüm yolu glütensiz diyet olup ayrıca hastalığın yanı sıra birtakım dış etkenlerle de mücadele edilmektedir. Araştırmada çölyak hastalarının karşılaştıkları engellerin, sağlık okuryazarlıklarının ve tüketim alışkanlıklarının ortaya koyulması amaçlanmıştır. Kolayda ve kartopu örneklem yönteminin kullanıldığı, toplamda 550 çölyak hastası ve yakınına uygulanan online anket ile elde edilen sonuçlara göre hastaların büyük bir çoğunluğunun glütensiz diyeti uyguladığı ve glütensiz ürün alımında en çok zorlanılan konunun da ürünlere her markette ulaşılamaması olduğu görülmektedir. Glütensiz ürünlere dair genel kanı ise ihtiyacı karşılamada yetersiz kalmaları ve glütensiz ekmeklerin çok pahalı olarak nitelendirilmesidir. Çölyak hastalarının satın alma eylemi esnasında mükemmele ulaşma eğilimi gösterdikleri, satın alma seçeneklerini önceden belirledikleri ve kaliteli ürün tercih ettikleri görülürken, hastalıklarına dair gerekli bilgi düzeyine de sahip oldukları, hastalıkla ilgili farkındalıklarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada sağlık okuryazarlığını temsil eden faktörler; iletişim odaklılık, takiben bilgiyi değerlendirme, sağlığın geliştirilmesi ve görüş alma iken, tüketim alışkanlığını en iyi temsil eden faktörler ise; mükemmele ulaşma, bilgi karmaşası, marka bağlılığı ve marka odaklılık şeklinde tespit edilmiştir.
