After two great World Wars, the establishment of the European Union and major changes in the field of energy have occurred
in a few decades. In order to has energy resources and use them efficiently, the EU has made important political and economic
decisions. These decisions were implemented in coordination by all bodies of the EU. Every country that has joined the EU
has tried to keep up with the energy policy of the EU in a short time.
In this study, I tried to briefly explain the functionality of the political decisions taken by the EU organs in the energy sector
and in short. It has been shown how the EU Council and the Commission's decisions, directives, are decided by the EU Court
and the Ombudsman. Decisions taken by the EU are not only aimed at efficient and effective use of energy but also examples
of decisions where environmental and human dimensions are evaluated.
The energy strategy is of great importance for the EU. Energy is the foremost of the decisions taken by the EU. Energy is the
purpose of establishment, as it is the most important factor for the EU to survive. The joint evaluation of energy resources has
turned into two major post-war mutual cooperation and solidarity between European countries in the political, economic and
social fields.
