INVESTIGATION OF FACTORS AFFECTING INTERNET ADDICTION IN HEALTHCARE WORKERS BY LOGISTIC REGRESSION

The aim of this study was to evaluate the internet addiction in health care workers and to investigate the effects of some factors on internet addiction. 324 people who are working in Istanbul University Faculty of Medical Hospital were included in the study. 122 (37.7%) of the participants were male and 202 (63.3%) were female. The study was conducted in the form of a survey and participants were asked about demographic characteristics, internet use and Young's Internet Addiction Test (IAT). As a result of logistic regression analysis, age, education level, use of internet for game, use of internet for information and (IAT) score were found significant in the model (p<0.005). IAT score is high in people with internet addiction. Internet addiction decreases with age. In particular, using the internet for gaming was found to be effective in internet addiction.
