UTILISATION STATUS FROM AGRICULTURAL SUPPORTS OF GROUNDNUT PRODUCERS IN TURKEY

Abstract

Governments intervene in agriculture due to the characteristics of agricultural production. Agricultural policies of Turkey
changed in parallel with internal and external dynamics from the founding of the republic to nowadays. Therefore, support
tools changed and were varied. Importance of groundnut has been increasing in terms of nutrition and economics. So, groundnut
production has been going up rapidly in the world as well as in our country. While it is grown to get groundnut oil in many
countries of the world, the vast majority of groundnut grown in Turkey are consumed as a snack. In a study, since Adana and
Osmaniye produced % 90 of groundnut production of Turkey in 2016, they were chosen as a study area. Face to face
questionaries was done with 61 producers determined according to stratified sampling method. Data got from questionaries
constitute the main material of study. The aim of this study is threefold: 1) to examine the situation of agricultural supports
used by groundnut producers; 2) to reveal current structure; 3) make suggestions to policymakers.
