It is known that tile revetment with colored glaze (cuerda seca) technique which made mark on Timurid architecture between the end of the 14th and the beginning of 15th centuries, was transfered by some craftsmen from Samarkand to Anatolia after the Ankara War in 1402 and then implemented in Ottoman monuments with very close ornamentation styles especially in Bursa. However tiles with the same technique are encountered in some buildings from the period of Ottoman and Principalities in Edirne, Karaman and Kutahya at first half of the 15th century, the samples in Bursa have importance both in terms of being first monuments with intensive ornamentation after the Timurids and also in terms of resemblances in application. In this study, some samples from tiles with colored glaze (cuerda seca) technique which enrich the Early Period Timurid monuments in Samarkand and Bukhara and Ottoman monuments in Bursa, are introduced and comparisoned.
