Abstract

Geometry subjects are mainly taught at elementary grades. One of the four main subject areas in elementary education is geometry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pre-service elementary teachers’ views in detail about the geometric nets usage in their mathematics classes. This study is a qualitative which aimed to determine the views of pre-service elementary teachers and the study was carried with 79 pre-service elementary teachers. The study group of the research is set by criterion sampling method and open-ended questions were used in data collection process. Descriptive analyzes were used in analyzing of data. It is found that elementary teacher eager to use this material to teach 3-dimensional geometry (solids geometry) subject in elementary grades. In this regard as, pre-service elementary teachers should design activities with geometric nets for mathematics teaching and It can be searched what and how can be done to design activities to using effectively for teaching mathematics in elementary teachers’ training.
