ANATOLIAN SELJUK PERIOD (1071-1308) PENALTY THOUGHTS OF CHINESE

Abstract

In this study, the decoration of the pediment which is one of the sections of the tiled mihrabs belonging to the Anatolian Seljuk Period (1071-1308) was discussed. When they came to Anatolia with the victory of Seljuks 1071 Malazgirt, they encountered stone, wood, plaster etc. using the material they applied in Central Asia by using many materials, applied and continued using the tile material here. In addition to the conceptual examination of the niche as well as the historical development of the mihrab, the detailed descriptions of the china decorations on the decoration of the pediment of the mihrabs, which constitute the subject, are given. In addition to the mihrab pediments which are mostly used in geometric decorations, there are mihrab pediments which include the herbal decoration and writing. Our work supported by photographs has been concluded with an result.
