The purpose of this research is to explain the importance of Turkish lessons in the socialization of the individual. Throughout the years, there has been a false perception in individuals with the statement that “social sciences do not have a laboratory (practice area).” However, the social environment itself is entirely a laboratory. The individual’s participation into the society as well as the development of his/her personal, mental and linguistic competences and communication skills are subjects of social sciences. These skills are those that can only be acquired through practice. In this context, Turkish lessons are important means in the acquisition of these experiences. The data was collected by examining the related resources through the document review method based on qualitative research and descriptive analyses were carried out. According to the results obtained, Turkish lessons based on practice made important contribution to the socialization of the individual. Turkish lessons have great influence on the development of the individual’s communication skills, and, therefore, on his/her socialization as well as of him/her becoming healthy citizen. Despite these, Turkish language includes skills that can be obtained through practice and it has some negative reflections on the society due to weakness of its areas of practice. The current system used in selecting teachers for Turkish, which is a social field, does not correspond to the principles of the field.
