Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the predictive power of teachers' commitment on organisational depression and the relationship between organisational depression and organisational commitment. The research was conducted with relational survey method, one of the quantitative research methods. The research was conducted with a study group consisting of 580 teachers. Stratification method was preferred in the formation of the study group. Within the scope of the research, teachers' organisational commitment and organisational depression levels were examined according to gender and professional seniority variables. The results show that there is a negative relationship between teachers' organisational depression level and organisational commitment. In addition, teachers' organisational commitment levels are a significant predictor of organisational depression. According to the data obtained, teachers' organisational depression levels and organisational commitment levels differ significantly according to gender variable. In addition, it was also found that teachers' organisational commitment levels differed according to career variable and organisational depression levels differed according to branch variable.
