Abstract

Since the beginning of time, human beings have felt the need to educate and be educated. In order to meet this need, various educational models have emerged according to the conditions of the time. In fact, these educational models have aimed to raise individuals as good citizens who are sometimes loyal to authority, and sometimes as free individuals who oppose authority. We see this aim clearly in classical educational models. That is why we could not ignore the educational aspect of political philosophy, which was very important in the era of John Locke, one of the important philosophers of the 18th century, and which played a role in shaping today's world. It was necessary to present to educators what kind of educational philosophy Locke's idea of tolerance, which emphasizes the neutrality of the state, and this understanding of politics based on liberalism have created. Accordingly, we tried to explain the educational process of the child on the path to becoming a free and self-supporting individual, and to reveal Locke's pedagogical methods in this process.
