Scale of Reasons for Participation and Non-Participation in The Stadium, Development, Validity and Reliability Study

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a measurement tool that can make valid and reliable measurements to measure the reasons for professional football fans to participate and non-participate in the stadium. The study was prepared in a descriptive scanning model. The test group of 76 people made a survey on the first scale of the overall degree of reliability Cronbach through the pilot-scale study was above 0.70. In the study, the second scale was applied to 1237 people in the experimental group and the internal consistency rate found as a result of the reliability analysis was found to be above the lower limit (α = 0.70) required for the scale to be considered reliable. In the study, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin and Bartlett's Sphericity tests were examined for the suitability of the sample size to factoring. The scale was used for exploratory factor analysis using the licensed SPSS 16 package program and confirmatory factor analysis was made using the AMOS 23 package program in the analysis of the research data. According to the exploratory factor analysis, the 30-item Stadium Participation and Non-Participation Reason Scale (SPNPRS) consists of 5 sub-dimensions. The scale was prepared in a 5-point Likert type. The scale of the reasons for participating in the stadium; While “Recreation Activity Opportunity” (4 items), “Stadium Atmosphere” (4 items), and “Personal Relaxation Opportunity” (3 items), in the reasons for non-participating in the stadium; It consists of "Negative Ergonomic Environment" (8 items) and "Unethical Situations" (3 items). As a result, when the validity and reliability evidence of the Stadium Participation and the Reasons for Not Participating Scale (SPNPRS) is evaluated, it can be said that it is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used in other studies
