This paper investigates the effects of childhood emotional neglect of female employees on their psychological capital and work-family conflicts. While the effects of negative childhood experiences generally focus on psychological issues such as depression and anxiety, it is seen that the findings on work-life are limited. Thus, the paper aims to create an original model that can be beneficial to work life. With this purpose in mind, Childhood Trauma Scale, Work-Family Conflict Scale and Psychological Capital Scale are used in this research. The research sample consists of 231 white-collar female employees working in the private and public sectors. Findings show that emotional neglect and psychological capital are negatively related, while emotional neglect and work-family conflict are positively related. Furthermore, psychological capital was found to be negatively related to work-family conflict. The results of the mediation model show that psychological capital has a mediating effect on the effects of emotional neglect on work-family conflict.
