Abstract

Banking sector is the most important institutional aspect of financial markets. That the banks have sensitive structures and the fluctuations in the sector cause to intense discussions over the banking system. This study examines the commercial banks operating in Turkey by using the financial ratios obtained from balance sheets and income statements and aims to classify the banks in the aspects of similarities and differences by cluster analysis. It is concluded that banks have formed a homegenous structure with the banks except existing groups (public, private and foreign)
