In Iğdır, highland saddlebags are generally referred to as highland saddlebags, as they are used on donkeys to transport goods while traveling to the highlands. Within the scope of the research, the reasons why saddlebags are not used today were investigated. In the Iğdır region, plateau saddlebags used to be the most important means of transportation in the past, but today they have become lost.
Today, the use of saddlebags; has left its place to different transportation methods and saddlebags have started to take place in the pages of history as memories from the past. The saddlebag samples woven in the past years have been studied in the field research made in Iğdır province. There are patterns in the eye sections, which are both side bags of the saddlebag. Rug weaving was used on the back of the bags with the space section and the eye section, and carpet, rug, and cicim techniques were used on the front of the eye sections.
