Abstract

The environment concept refers to the environment in which all living things interact and maintain relationships throughout their lives. This environment includes both living and inanimate beings. These assets in the environment are negatively affected by environmental changes and deteriorations. These changes and deteriorations create a threat and dangerous environment for all living things. These threats and dangers cannot be tackled or any solution can be produced against these threats and dangers with the military measures that constitute the traditional security known to most people. In this case, arise the aspects of security that are not well known by society. Apart from the military aspect of security, there are also environmental, economic, social and political aspects. “Environmental security” constitutes the most important of these aspects. Because environmental pollution, environmental degradation and environmental stress constitute the biggest danger in today's conditions. Based on the definition of security, which is free from threats, dangers and concerns, we can easily say that there is a direct relationship between the negative changes, deteriorations on the environment and security. Because the decrease, pollution and disappearance of environmental resources constitute a threat, danger and anxiety environment for all living things. This situation affects the accessibility, reachability and safety of environmental resources. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to emphasize environmental safety by explaining the concepts of environment and safety. Because the performance and sustainability of each element of the environment depend on ensuring environmental safety and understanding its importance.
