EVALUATION PROCESS

After the article is added to the journal system, the article that passes the editor's control is sent to a 3-person evaluation board and the referee process is started.

Each article uploaded to the journal system is first evaluated by the editor or assistant editors in terms of its compliance with the writing and publication principles. As a result of this evaluation, if there are corrections to be made by the author, the manuscript is returned to the author by requesting correction by the editors. Manuscripts that do not comply with the writing principles will not be sent to the referee.

Manuscripts found suitable for evaluation in terms of writing and publication principles are directed to the referees. At least two referees are assigned for the evaluation of each manuscript approved by the editor. Referees are selected from among those who have expertise in the field and department represented by the article. The names of the referees and authors are kept confidential from each other.

The review period of the manuscript sent to them by the referees is maximum 15 days. At the end of this process, a new referee is appointed for the manuscript that is not reported. The article that receives two positive referee reports from the field evaluation is entitled to be published. The article, which receives a positive and negative referee report, is sent to a third referee and whether the manuscript is published or not is determined in accordance with the report of the third referee.

Reviewers may want to see the article they want corrected once more before it is published. If this request is stated in the report, the corrected version of the text is automatically sent to the referee by the system. Authors may object to the referee's report within a reasonable framework and with convincing data. Objections are reviewed by the journal management and, if deemed appropriate, a different referee (or referees) can be consulted on the subject.

The authors can track the stage of the evaluation process of the articles added to the journal system by using their membership information. The referee process should be followed meticulously, since the system only allows one change, it is necessary to wait for both referee evaluations to be concluded and the reports to be entered into the system for possible changes.

Journal editors meticulously follow the corrections given by the referees. Accordingly, the editors may decide to publish or not publish an article.

REFEREE EVALUATION POLICY

All content of JSHSR is subject to peer review. All articles published in JSHSR have undergone rigorous peer review (double-blind peer review) by members of the editorial board and review panel. First of all, the editor examines and evaluates the submitted articles; examines the relevance and quality of the research, indicating the importance, the format of the manuscript, and the quality of the research. If the potential is suitable for JSHSR publication, the editor directs this article to two referees who are experts in their field. Following feedback from both reviews, there are options to reject publication, be accepted with the required revisions, or be accepted for publication. After the revision or acceptance phase, it is queued for publication.

Reviewers are objective for all decisions in the arbitration process. Submitted articles are treated confidentially before publication.

Revised feedback and results will be sent to the corresponding author for corrections (if necessary). Edits will be made available to the respective authors prior to publication. Edited / Revised documents must be returned to the publisher within three days.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST PRINCIPLES

Transparency and objectivity in research are essential for JSHSR. These principles are strictly followed in our evaluation process and publication decision. Article submissions are assigned to reviewers to minimize potential conflicts of interest. Relationships between author and authors, such as new colleagues, co-authors, or Ph.D. students headed by the editor, are considered conflict and avoided.
