The academic chemistry laboratory has been defined as an environment that provides unique challenges in terms of occupational health and safety. There is a need for changes in the system-wide program planning, training and monitoring for chemistry laboratories. In this study, occupational health and safety measures in chemistry research laboratories of universities were examined outside of the basic rules. Generally, work safety studies in laboratories are carried out on chemicals, ventilation systems, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the nature of exposure and the floors of the laboratories. Differently, this study includes the preparation of a chemical hygiene plan, researcher training, chemical process and research method, and storage problems and solutions
