MIXED RESEARCH ON THE MOTIVATION LEVELS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

In this study, primary school teachers' motivation levels were examined according to gender, age, professional experience, school type, class taught and marital status variables. Research Combination (diversification) design, one of the mixed method researches, was used. The quantitative dimension of the study consists of 246 primary school teachers working in Diyarbakır and the qualitative dimension consists of 21 primary school teachers. In the research, data were collected through the "Primary School Teachers Motivation Scale" and a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers as data collection tools While the t-test and ANOVA analyzes of the obtained quantitative data were performed with the SPSS package program, the content analyzes of the qualitative data were made. As a result of the analysis, it was found that there was no significant differentiation according to gender, marital status, age and grade level of primary school teachers, but there was a significant differentiation according to professional seniority and school type. In addition, it was concluded that the economic status of teachers affected their motivation levels.
