Abstract

Asaf Hâlet Çelebi is one of the prominent figures in Turkish literature with his poems fed from many sources of the east as of 1940s and which include the eastern mysticism, Far East culture, Buddhism and Islamic mysticism’s teaching. In his poem it is possible to see the traces of Divan poetry.
The masnevis, which are rich in diversity of the subjects, have an important place in Turkish literature. In Divan literature, it is known that there are many works written in this type of verse and it can be said that many masnevis include fairytale elements. Considering that some poets of Asaf Hâlet Çelebi have a fairytale structure, in this study we will look for the traces of masnavi in Asaf Hâlet Çelebi’s Nigâr-ı Çîn poem published in his book titled “Om Mani Padme Hum”.
