Abstract

The acceleration of technological developments in recent years also encourages logistics and supply chain management to take
advantage of current technological developments. These technological developments and developing innovation capability can
also be seen on ports, which are an important part of supply chain management. From the growth of the cloud connection to
the increasing use of drone cameras to monitor port operations, it is thought that the coming years will be a period of
technological progress and innovation in the port and terminal industry. 5G network technology, the internet of things, drone
cameras, the internet of vehicles and augmented reality applications enable the creation of smart digital ports. Ports must adapt
to technological developments in order to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction and to reduce their costs in
the long run. The degree of this compliance directs port operators to evaluate their technology and innovation capabilities. In
the study, the technological applications developing in the port sector in the world are mentioned. A container terminal example
has been evaluated for the implementation of the technological developments subject to the study.
