The aim of this research is to determine the attitudes of candidate students who want to study at the School of Physical
Education and Sports towards playing games involving physical activity. The sample of the research conducted using the
general screening model consists of 617 voluntary participants selected from the population by a simple random sampling
method. In the research, “Playfulness Scale” was used as a data collection tool. Based on the answers given by the participants
to the scale questions, it was determined that the candidate students do physical activity at the lower-medium level, females
have a higher score in all sub-dimensions and do more physical activity compared to males, the candidates in the age groups
of 18-19 and 22 prefer games involving physical activity more than those in other age groups, and the participants who have
been doing sportsfor 1-2 years and those are interested in individual sports do more physical activity than the others. In addition,
it was found that while there is a statistically significant difference between the attitudes of female and male participants towards
playing games that involve physical activity in all sub-dimensions of the scale, other variables differ in terms of significance
in all sub-dimensions.
