Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to determine the predictions of life concerns and life goals of university students for death anxiety. Three scales were used to collect data. To measure the meaning of life of university students; Life Meaning Scale, developed by Akin and Tas, to measure life goals; İlhan, T. Developed by the short form of Life Aims Scale and to measure death concerns; The adaptation of the Thorson-Powell Death Anxiety Scale, which was made by Yildiz, M. and Karaca, F., was used. Sufficient sampling of the universe was obtained and 355 students' answers were taken into consideration in the analysis. As a result, the data were analyzed in SPSS 22 and AMOS 20 Package programs and necessary analyzes were performed. First, the difference test analysis was performed (gender, department, class). After these analyzes, the main purpose of the study was to examine the effects of students' meaning of life and the effects of goal variables on predicting death anxiety. As a result of the analysis, a meaningful relationship was found between the meaning of life and the purpose of life and death anxiety. Then the study was supported with the related literature and finalized the study
