The research is investigating a new aspect in interdisciplinary area between pottery and architecture. Although ceramic materials are used in architecture in many ways, but the research is concentrated on the construction abilities of clays and ceramic materials. These construction features are used in forming any article in ceramics and pottery. When this ceramic article is a house or a structure in the house’s size the same mechanical, chemical and thermal proprieties are considered.
There are almost thirty ceramic houses have been created all over the world. Nader Khalili who was the first and then Ray Meeker was the most developer of this technique and came up with important results of it. In this article, the techniques developed in ceramic buildings and their applications are presented. Kahalili Projs two projects, which give the first examples of ceramic houses, are the 7th Project of Meeker: ler Agni Jata Seramik; Joseph Diliberti's House and the ceramic house of Octavio Mendoza Morales were examined.
