MEASUREMENT OF RATIONAL DRUG USE KNOWLEDGE LEVEL IN ADULTS

Introduction: The aim of this study was to figure out the level of knowledge of rational drug use in adult patients.
Objectives and Methods: 124 participants consist of 36 male and 88 female who admit to Konya Private Medova Hospital. While men are 29.0%, women are 71.0%. To collect data, Rational Drug Use Scale developed by Demirtaş et al. (2016) was used. Frequency analysis test was done by operating SPSS 22.0 for the investigation data. In the study, most patients argued that only the physicians should make the drug recommendation and that the physicians should approve them about the necessity of drug medication. The interest in herbal products in the society has an increasing, and it shows it prefers organic and natural rather than artificial ones. On the other hand, it was seen that there was a lack of information about the number of drugs or how the drugs should be used.
Conclusion: As a result, rational drug use the knowledge levels of the participants were found to be high. Based on the data, it was concluded that most of the participants were conscious, cautious, careful, and guided by the physician.
