Abstract

In this study; In order to determine the problems faced by teachers with principals working in primary schools with combined classes in Diyarbakır province, a questionnaire was applied to 12 principal authorized teachers working in schools with combined classes in order to determine the problems they face regarding education-training services and school management. When the profile of the principal authorized teachers participating in the research is examined; 75% are men and 25% are women. Most of the teachers work for a period of 1-6 years. None of the teachers attended in-service training courses on educational administration. The proportion of schools with student enrollment in the range of 1-45 is quite low. The school size is mostly over 45. Only one teacher works in schools with 1-45 students. Most schools with 46-90 and over have 2, 3, or 4 teachers. In addition, if there is a surplus of classrooms other than the classroom teacher and the number of 48-60 month-old students is 10 or more, preschoolteachers also work. When evaluated in general; One of the most common problems encountered in the education and training services of primary schools with combined classes is that they cannot allocate enough time for students due to the fact that two tasks are carried out together, and that the teachers authorized by the principal, who have to come to the district center due to urgent letters or meetings, cannot attend their classes. In addition, the teachers' needs are not met, there are many classroom combinations, the number of classrooms is insufficient, there is a lack of materials in schools, and all the needs of the school are met only by the teacher authorized by the principal, there are physical inadequacies and the expenses for these inadequacies are usually paid by the teachers authorized by the principal.
