HASAN BEY ZERDABI AND IN AZERBAIJAN PRESS

Abstract

The results of Russian influence and assimilation policies over the people of Azerbaijan are remarkably important. As a result of these activities highbrows who try to justify their rightful states, put so much effort into generating national consciousness. Hasan Bey Zerdabi, who laid the foundations of the press in Azerbaijan, is one of the most outstanding names that contribute to nationalizing and simplifying the progress of their language. This article is about Hasan Bey Zerdabi’s perseverance in order to publish in Turkish spite of Russian influence. In addition, in this article, the role that Ekinci Newspaper played in order to raise awareness, the highbrows who pursue the Zerdabi customs, and their publications will be evaluated.
