Human is a being that has values. His existence is meaningful with his values. The concepts of values such as good-evil, right-wrong, beautiful-ugly, profit-loss, sweet-bitter, useful-harmful are used in relation with all areas of life. There is a hierarchy of living things and values. This hierarchy is not only among the different types of living things but also has a ranking in its own structure as well. While ranking values as “good, better, the best or excellent” is a positive hierarchy; it is a negative hierarchy to rank values as “bad, worse, the worst or terrible.”
Qur'an is a book of value. It teaches the values that will make a human being's life delighted and meaningful. Qur'an has a values system. This system of values in a rating / hierarchy has. Some people and some actions (practices) are superior to and more valuable than the others. In the verses of Qur'an, people and values, compared with "ism-i tafdil" structures and that have the qualifications classified as "the best" and "the worst", are frequently mentioned and some actions from the others are made superior. In this article, we provide the hierarchy of the values of the Qur'an and to put forward the hierarchy between the generally positive values.
