STUDENT’ PERSPECTIVES OF PHYSICAL FEATURES OF THEIR SCHOOL

The aim of this study was to determine students’ opinions of the physical structures of their schools in different types and grade levels. In this descriptive survey study data was collected via questionnaire. 569 students from the Uskudar district of Istanbul participated in the study during 2017-2018 academic year. In the scope of the research, the data collection scale of the physical structure of schools was used in terms of education and training scale. According to the findings of the study students thinks that school yards are insufficient and not suitable for their needs. Students complain about the inadequacy of the toilets in the school and the lack of school canteen. When we look at the findings in general, it is seen that the criticism towards schools’ physical features increases as age progresses. Therefore, the most positive opinion is in primary school students. The closest view to the primary school students is in the secondary school students. Imam hatip secondary school students are more similar to high school students. There is no difference between students’ perspectives attending various high school types.
