SELECTING A COMPANY PROVIDING A THIRD PARTY LOGISTICS (3PL) SERVICE WITH FUZZY TOPSIS METHOD

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the best company providing 3PL service with Fuzzy TOPSIS method which is one of the decision making methods. Fuzzy TOPSIS method is one of the commonly preferred Multi-criteria Decision Making methods. Sampling of the study consists of the businesses which are active in leather sector in Uşak and get logistic supports from the companies providing 3PL services. 10 business managers were interviewed in order to identify the problem, determine the criteria and evaluate the alternatives. As a result of interviews, 5 alternative (providing 3PL service) companies were identified. However, in order to determine the criteria, the criteria used in some studies in related literature were preferred. As a result of the study, the most important criterion (sub-criterion); “long term relationship (cost)” and suggested alternative to be preferred were obtained as “A1” alternative.
