In this article, two important philosophers who are at the center of sociological studies evaluated in the context of historiography will be judged on the basis of understanding. In particular, Gadamer's attempt to understand Hermeneutik as the basis of philosophical systems will be treated by Dilthey as a method. The approach of the two philosophers to the human sciences will be discussed, trying to understand the problem of history with a methodological effort
