Abstract

In the process of society from the past to the present day; All the social and societal processes of religion, belief, morality and thought structure develop and bring about the culture. The Turkish culture of death has remained in its most elegant form for centuries with its longhistory. The culture of death around the balbale tradition seen before Islam has not disappeared with the acceptance of Islam, but has reflected the accumulation of culture and belief elements in the Ottoman tombstones by bringing together its wealth and Islamic richness.
Considering all this cultura ldiversity, the Ottoman Empire and its community tried to purify its cemeteries from cold and creepy air and turn the min to heavenly gardens. Within the scope of this study, Ottoman tombstones with vegetable processing, which are determined in the İstanbul-Eyüp district, where Eyüp Sultan was the eternal host of His Holiness, will be presented with examples of cultural infrastructures within the context of belief sand folk beliefs
