Abstract

Contemporary period music is a music period that comes from the end of the romantic period to the present day. In contemporary music dating from the late 1900s to the present, composers came out of certain patterns by trying different techniques. The contemporary period has shaped not only music but also fine arts. Among the art movements that emerged and developed during this period; There are examples such as impressionism, expressionism and jazz. Benjamin Britten, a contemporary composer, was regarded as a bold modernist in London in the 1930s and continued the musical styles of the European composers he imitated in his orchestras and operas. Using a theme of 12 notes, Britten drew attention with his loyalty to tonality in his famous opera "The Turn of the Screw" and continued this loyalty throughout his music life. In accordance with data from various sources, Britten's works, which strengthen the popularity of the British opera, often share common themes with corruption and anxiety.
