Antalya is an outstanding port city that has witnessed many important developments throughout history. Antalya and its
surroundings witnessed many vital events. One of these events II. It took place in July 1941 during World War II. It was the
immersion of the Didier ship by the British fleet. From Vichy France to the German forces fighting in North Africa. St. Didier
ship was forced to flee to the Eastern Mediterranean when the British Navy was prosecuted in the Mediterranean. As a result
of this pursuit, it tried to take refuge in Antalya port of Turkey which remained neutral in the Second World War. But this
situation could not prevent the British navy from sinking the ship. During the attack, there was no loss of life in the port of
Antalya but material damage occurred. Some of the ship's crew lost their lives in this attack and the survivors took shelter in
Antalya harbor. These people who were supported by the people of Antalya in the first place were then temporarily placed by
the state to Afyon. The persistent policy of neutrality during the Second World War, Turkey, has not been a strong reaction
against this attack occurred around your own land. The shipwreck in question is still in the vicinity of the port of Antalya. In
this study, this historical event was tried to be illuminated for the first time in the light of archival documents, news in the
period press and the memories of witnesses of the period.
