Abstract

Organizational support is one of the human resources strategies developed to increase or maintain the level of employee
performance for the businesses they are affiliated with. In this context, it is a concept that arises as a result of employees' need
to get material and moral attention and feel valuable apart from the wage they receive. Performance evaluation, on the other
hand, is a measurement system that is used to determine the extent to which employees are loyal to the standards established
by the organizations in order to achieve their goals and objectives. The goal of this article is to examine the effect of perceived
organizational support theory on the performance of the employees. In this study, the question of "Does the perceived
organizational support affect the performance of the employees?" is analyzed. The survey study, which is chosen as the research
method in this article, was carried out with the participation of the employees working in the Fire Brigade on the European
Side of Istanbul. The data obtained during the research process were analyzed with the SPSS 22 statistical program. As a result
of the data obtained from the employees participating in the research, it has been observed that perceived organizational support
has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees. In addition, it was found that there is a significant
difference between the variables of the total period of time worked at the current workplace and individual performance
according to the demographic variable analysis of the research.
