Abstract

The technology used to maintain the quality, eligibility and comfort of life has been used more and more in modern times, although it has become more complicated compared to the past. The technology, which has become almost an obligatory tool to keep pace with the flow of time, especially for those living in big cities, can offer innumerable contributions to life when used consciously and carefully, and in the opposite case it can be a excess baggage. In order to increase the positive contribution of technology to life, a variety of knowledge and skills are needed in this regard. As in other areas, there is also a need for adequate equipment and training in this area. Technology literacy, however, emerges as the main determinant here. The technology user (employee) who does not have sufficient hardware and equipment can get stressed easily by being exposed to "technostress" instead of mitigating the workload in this heavy traffic. In this study, which is based on the argument that the technostress exposure may be high in individuals with poor technology literacy, it has been researched that if the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) which has been used at Giresun University recently has a technostress effect on the University staff (academic and administrative staff) depending on their technology literacy. As a result of the research, it was found that technology literacy has a significant and positive effect on technostress.
