Abstract

The most fundamental components of teaching profession include teachers’ creating positive relationships with their students,
making them socialize with each other as role models and ease their learning process. The effort that the class teachers make
in order to overcome the problems in the classes where the students with emotional and behavioral disorder present is significant
in terms of understanding the level of meeting the requirements of teaching profession. The aim of this study is to reveal how
the class teachers define the students with emotional and behavioral disorder and what kind of educational services they offer
to cater for those students. In this qualitative research, phenomenological research design has been used. The sample group
consists of 21 class teachers including 11 teachers from Muğla and 10 teachers from Adana. The data analysis has been
conducted using content analysis and descriptive analysis. In this study, the quality and the efficiency of the implementations
towards the students with emotional and behavioral disorder have been assessed. The findings have been evaluated under four
themes as ‘noticing the students with emotional and behavioral disorder, developing academic skills, behavioral control and
classroom management and developing cooperation’.
