In this dissertation, pedagogical approaches of the 20th century Russian violin pedagogoues and performers are analysed. During the period between 18th and 20th centuries, it is possible to speak of several systems on violin practice and education, which we name “ecole” in general.
Following these systems which are also mentioned in this dissertation, with the advent of 20th century, we see a much more innovative system on violin performance developing in Russia. Some of the pedagogues who presented this - though not for our day but for that time – new and distinctive system; immigrated abroad and carried this system to the countries where they moved to.
Observation of the scientific approach developed in the 20th century Russia will be particularly beneficial for violin teachers, especially for overcoming difficulties encountered while working with students
