Abstract

In this study, analysis of the relationship between technology addiction in female adolescent and emotional intelligence is
aimed. The research is planned to be performed in the relational survey model. While the universe of the study consists of
female adolescents attending high school in Malatya city center in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year, the sample
group consisted of 170 female adolescents selected from the universe by appropriate sampling method. During the study, scales
of "Technology Addiction" and "Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence" and also data collection tools consisting of a personal
information form were applied to female adolescents. In the analysis of the data obtained, it is benefitted from Pearson Product
Moment Correlation Analysis and multiple linear regression analysis, in order to determine the relationships between variables.
According to the results obtained, it was seen that there is a negative relationship between technology addiction and emotional
intelligence in female adolescents. In line with the findings, recommendations were made for researchers, families and
educators.
