In this research, the social effects of festivals were investigated. The population of the research is the participants of the
Traditional Centenary Kargı Fair held between 28 October and 3 November 2019. The sample of the research was 418
participants who agreed to participate in the research. In the research, the questionnaire technique was used as the data collection
technique. The questionnaire consisted of two parts, the first part was asked questions about the demographic characteristics
of the participants, the second part was used to determine the social effects of the festivals, two dimensions (Social benefit and
social cost), a social impact scale consisting of 27 items and a statement to determine the general satisfaction of the participants.
Likert type scales were used. Sert (2017) Social Impacts of The Festivals on The Local Community at The: The Case Study of
Beypazarı was used in the preparation of the questionnaire. The statistical analysis of the questionnaire, which was answered
by 418 participants, was carried out with IBM SPSS 22 statistical package program. Frequency distribution, descriptive
statistics, T test and one way ANOVA were used in the analysis of the data. Among the demographic variables examined,
statistically significant differences were found between the participants' marital status, age, educational status, occupation,
number of visits to the festival and social benefit dimension. Statistically significant differences were found between
participants' the gender, occupation, income of the festival and social cost dimensions. A statistically significant difference was
found between the participants' ages, educational situations and occupation and satisfaction.
