EVALUATION OF HEALTHY LIFE STYLE BEHAVIORS OF BREAST CANCER WOMEN APPLIED TO ADANA CITY TRAINING AND RESEARCH HOSPITAL

Purpose of the study: The aim of this study was to evaluate the healthy lifestyle behaviors of women with breast cancer.
Methodology: The research was conducted in a cross-sectional type. Data were collected with personal information form and
healthy lifestyle scale form. In the evaluation of the data; Frequency, Mean, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Correlation
analyzes were used. Ethics Committee of the study was taken from Adana City Training and Research Hospital. Consent was
obtained from the women who participated in the study.
Findings: It was found that the mean age of the women participating in the study was 53.18, the mean body mass index was
29.26, and the mean score of healthy lifestyle behavior scale was 83.10; marital status, educational status, economic status and
working status were found to be highly statistically significant correlations with healthy lifestyle scale total score.
Result: In this study, it was found that women diagnosed with breast cancer had unhealthy lifestyle behavior and this was
related to socioeconomic and sociocultural factors. Therefore, in order to prevent breast cancer, it is necessary to raise
awareness in society about gaining healthy lifestyle behaviors.
