Universities are educational institutions that are expected to find the highest level of opportunities and challenges provided by
information technologies in education. In this respect, especially in higher education, the concept of leadership gains
importance. In this study, the relationship between open leadership and problem solving skill levels of faculty members was
investigated.
The data of the study were collected from 36 faculty members from 2 vocational schools of Kocaeli University. Open
Leadership Scale developed by Polat and Arabacı (2016) and Problem Solving Inventory adapted to Turkish by Şahin, Şahin
and Heppner (1993) were used as data collection tools. It was seen that the problem solving skills and open leadership levels
of the instructors working at the Vocational School were high. It is concluded that there is a positive positive relationship
between open leadership and problem solving skills.
