Abstract

Social policy, one of the basic concepts and building blocks of social security, emerged in the contemporary sense with the
industrial revolution. Social policies have been developed and found use through various means such as social security systems
and with public support. The use and foundation of the social security system as a service has started with the industrial
revolution and has developed continuously with the aim of protecting the society against all kinds of social risks that may
happen to the business life of the nations starting from the past to the present day with the working class. social policy
instruments and developments in the social security context of public support in Turkey, have begun to emerge after the
proclamation of the republic. Following the developments in Western societies, the social security system has been rearranged
to meet the demands and expectations of society.
In this article, firstly the social security understanding and systems which are formed as a result of social policies are examined.
In this context, it has been concluded that the social security system has gone through a revision and improvement process with
the public support and the improvements and developments since the proclamation of the republic have been examined.
