THE DEPARTMENT OF MISSIOLOGY AT EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES AND APPLICABILITY AS A DISCIPLINE IN THEOLOGY FACULTIES IN TURKEY

Abstract

The analysis of the religious values of the society and the social elements that these values take over constitute the subjects of
sociology in general and sociology of religion in particular. Christianity and Islam, which is among the religions claiming to
be universal, have a significant impact on social life and the elements surrounding it. This research is based on intimation-Irsad
and missionary which are among the basic teachings of the religions in question. In this context, first of all, the concept of
intimation and Irsad was defined and its place in Islamic doctrine was determined. Although it differs in terms of theory and
practice with the notion of intimation in Islam, the Christian missionary understanding and the fact that Mission Science /
Missiology, which is the scientific field of this understanding, constitute a concrete example, made this study a subject of
research.
