This study investigates various types of literary prose in the form of novel, drama, and short story. Fiction brings about enjoyment and makes our minds to quicken our sense of life. The history is full of falsehoods and fictions are full of the truth. The fiction may be classified into two categories; escape literature and literature of interpretation. The former has been written purely for entertainment, but the latter is written for deepening and sharpen our awareness of life. The first one takes us away from the real world, but the second one takes us—through imagination—to the depth of the real world. The difference does not lie in the absence or presence of facts. The escape literature has an object of pleasure, but interpretive has inclusive object pleasure plus understanding and may have no moral at all in any conventional sense
