Attachment behavior is defined as the behaviors of an individual to approach and maintain an appropriate person to cope with various difficulties of life. The human being, who started life defensively and who needs the most attention and care, can survive with the phenomenon of attachment. This phenomenon is a vital mechanism developed by the baby, especially the mother, with the caregiver. This mechanism is best possible in a healthy family environment and with a affectionate and caring mother. However, the loss of this positive environment and the deprivation of the mother may cause problems related to attachment. In this study, maternal absence, institutional care and attachment were taken together and attention was paid to the problems related to attachment in institutional care
